At the end of a module, the grades awarded for the assignments you completed in the module are used to calculate a provisional end-of-module grade. Provisional grades are not finalised until all grades within a module are reviewed by a moderator. This ensures:
- That the faculty member has marked consistently and fairly
- That the grades are in accordance with the guidelines for the programme
- That the grades have parity with grades for the same quality of work awarded by different faculty members and for different programmes.
If the moderator finds any inconsistencies in grading, he or she can ask for work to be re-marked. Therefore, marks and grades may be changed and are provisional until they are finalised by the Programme Examination Boards. You will receive a notification when this happens, and at that point, you can check the Blackboard classroom to see your confirmed grades.
